A lovely accident. Would Monet approve? I'd taken a shot of my favorite barrel of pickles at the farmer's market, but as I pulled into our parking spot at home my eye was caught by a luscious blue-purple in the backyard.
My purposeful shots of the hydrangea blooms were all washing out (over exposing) despite the shade and early morning light. As I was processing the pics into iPhoto I noticed this misfire and loved it. The color in the lower right hand corner is the truest I was able to capture (and in real life the color was deeper and richer).
This photo, like the preceding one, looks like a painting. I like how the motion evokes the constant movement of time and nature and earth in a different and unexpected way.
