Exhale
Halloween is essentially over. The kids went trick-or-treating with their usual buds, Lukas and Owen.

The drizzle did not deter and they had a good time. I held down the fort here and enjoyed chatting with Renée, my downstairs neighbor.
Once home they spread out their loot and picked out what they wanted to keep. The rest will be picked up by the Halloween fairy tonight.
"What's your favorite candy, Isä?"

Something new this year: they have been running down every time the bell rings and answering the door and handing out candy.
As the adrenaline left their bodies, they wilted, but a little dinner has helped smooth them out. Now they are watching the old Batman movie...

The Halloween exhale has begun.

I leave you with this whip "action" shot :-)

Monkey love
I received a most bodacious birthday gift in the mail today. Monkey knit in Paca Peds (Harvest colorway) by knitter extraordinaire, Wendy.
Are you ready? Here comes the parade of pictures...

I loooove them. Didn't realize till now just how special it is to have socks knit by someone else warming one's feet. Thank you ♥

Turn A Square

Turn A Square for Audrey. MC: Cascade 220
CC: Noro Silver Thaw
Needles: US size 5 and 6 16 inch circulars; US size 6 dpns
'Twas the night before Halloween
(I stayed home and frogged my first go 'round at Turn A Square. The second try is going swimmingly. Choosing to watch online tutorials, whether to learn a new skill or refresh the memory on an old one, turned out to create a much cleaner knit. No mistakes and all that... Go figure :-)

Park with Auntie Barbra
Having moved so often this hasn't come easily for them. It makes me happy to see it now.
Gem was able to see from water's edge a silhouette below the surface of the water that looked like the body of a turtle. Sag eventually joined Gem and pretended to swing the scooter into the water.
A moment later, the turtle bid a hasty retreat. There were only ripples on the pond where the spot had once been.
