Breakfast. Toasted walnuts and Master Lu's "Digestion" tea with honey. If you have never toasted walnuts and eaten them warm, please do. I don't think you will regret it (unless you're allergic to walnuts). I just toss a handful into my little skillet and heat them up. You do have to be mindful so the nuts don't burn/smoke. They are so rich and robust and warming.
The tea is a staple for me and the kids. A member of the family, really.

This plant keeps growing! I am concerned that the pale green leaf is suffering from lack of space/nutrients. I really must find a bigger pot for this plant which thrives, not despite me, which I had long thought, but
because of me.
So...the wanting more. I want a camera. And an iPod (with a deck for the kitchen and to be able to connect to the car stereo). I am inclined to just get these items for myself. Dip right into the savings which really isn't savings because we still owe my parents money for rescuing us from credit card debt.
Ego and will.

I'm getting into the habit of putting the things I want on my Amazon wish list. I am amazed at how, four weeks later, the things I wanted SO BADLY I can now live without. Wanting crap is like a craving - sometimes it's legit and sometimes it passes. But if you spend money that you owe your parents and the craving passes, what you'll be left with is guilt and that's harder to get over. Just a thought.
I feel your struggle with the wants. There are many things I want, especially a new computer at the moment (which will have to wait until tax return money). I keep having to say to myself, "I know you want it but do you really need it?"
As Julie mentioned sometimes putting it off lessens the craving over time. If it doesn't then I start trying to cut back someplace else to save a little at a time to buy the "want" item.
That Ego is a big time trouble maker for me!
I do that with my Amazon wish list too. So do the kids. Both the camera and iPod are items revealing themselves to be more and more of a practical necessity for a happier life. Unlike more yarn ;-)
Our cd player in the kitchen broke (it cost us something like $20 and served us well).
I'm trying to hold out on the iPod bc we may be getting iPhones down the line. But, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and I miss having my tunes in there!
And the camera, I've been sharing it with the kids for a couple of years now (mostly with Sag since Gem got his own) which can be a drag...most recently I took a bunch of pictures only to discover the camera had been set on the unprintable resolution for the making of a stop motion film.
The camera has really served me well...it's about 5 years old. The camera I'm thinking I'll wait till after X-mas and my birthday (or buy it before but designate those money gifts for it).
We'll see.
I think there's a connection between ego and will and craving and want.
And, to throw in the TCM view, a craving should be listened to, but we may misinterpret what the craving is actually for.
So is it that I want an iPod or a camera? Or are they somehow representing (or am I misrepresenting them as) something else?
