Then and now

Preparing the space for Fall learning at home has been wonderful.  Being able to see and think and imagine with so much more clarity and calm has helped make this time productive and joyful.

A few minutes ago I took down a painting Sag did in January of 2008 to make way for some new shelving which will go up this weekend.

It's called "Child Doing Sunrise Dance"...seeing that title on the back of the painting brought a huge smile to my soul.

As I downloaded the photo into the computer I noticed some shots I took of a recent comic cover Gem drew which I had not posted yet.

It is rare for him to spend time coloring in drawings, but he took a lot of time with this one.  He drew in pencil, inked it with pen, and then colored.  Some of his favorite things are included in this illustration: baseball, Pokemon, and an old shirt he used to have with green and orange stripes.

Great photos. Yes, lots of detail in the drawing by Gem. Love them both!

I love both pictures - but it's really fun to measure the growth in art.

Thanks Julie, I agree it is fun to see how their art has developed.
