Kinder ran his first "fun run" yesterday. It was a kids' race which preceded a running event that his aunt and uncle ran. He was adamant about not running till the last second when we realized that an adult could run with him and he changed his mind.
My brother accompanied him to the starting line, but once he heard "go!", Kinder dusted him and finished the race one satisfied kid.
Takai and Kinder were interviewed after the fun run and ended up on a local broadcast. The video can be found here at the website of the tv station. Enjoy (and make sure to watch the whole clip to hear Kinder talk :-) !

We don't have Real Player so we can't watch the clip - but I think it's awesome that Kinder ran a race - GO KINDER!!! And Takai and Sandy, of course.
This boy is just growing, stretching, expanding. I can't believe he is nearly six and a half.
Today he signed up for swim class at the Y. He had to take a placement test...he's moving into the world in a way that is new and exciting.
