Baxter

Heartbroken.  Baxter, our nephew dog, died tonight.  He had undergone surgery to remove a tumor from his liver, earlier in the day.  The veterinary team believes he developed a blood clot which got into his lung and caused respiratory arrest.  They tried to save him, but death came quickly.

Rest in peace, sweet pup, I hope you weren't scared.  I will miss you so much and am so grateful to have known and loved you.

Peace and love.

Donna Summer

Sigh.  Rest in peace, madame.

The song of hers I loved most when I was a kid...

The song of hers that reminded me of her charisma a few years ago...

Rest in peace whitney

So sad to hear the news of Whitney Houston's passing. She was the only model who I ever felt I could relate to...back when she graced the pages of Seventeen magazine. And her voice...legendary and such a gift. Thank you for the songs, Whitney, hope you have found some peace.

Peru is off

I didn't realize how much hope I had pinned on seeing Vanessa again in January.  The trip is off and postponed to a later date TBD.

Quieting

Baxter has gone home.  Momoko will be staying with him for the next few days.  We'll be heading up to the great Commonwealth and couldn't take him with us.

Wrapping goodies for family and friends.  The presenting is winding down.

Girl has passed on.  She had a long and wonderful life with Sandy and Mike (sister and brother-in-law).  She was a sweet cat and will be missed.

The blink of an eye

I just found out that my friend, Denise, whose blog I've mentioned a few times here in the past year, has suffered a terrible loss.  Her husband, Ely, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.  They have a son who is around my kids' age.

I have never met Denise or her family, in real life.  But, I know that Denise and Ely have a great love which is eternal.

My heart is breaking for them.
