Sewing

Do I take the adult school class for $120 for nine 2-hour sessions?

Do I buy a book with some of my birthday money?

Do I invite my sister or mother over for a crash course in how to use my "new" machine? (I bought it last summer and still haven't used it.)

Julie's been inspiring me with her sewing projects here.

The book I got, Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing is a good book - so far. It has different levels, so you can start with the basics. Now I've been sewing for awhile, so I can follow her pretty easily. I don't know if she would be difficult for a beginner. And for that matter I don't know how much of a beginner you are.

But I'd suggest having your sister and mother over first and buying a project book. Maybe take the course in the Summer if you still think you need it. If I didn't have the cat (and sometimes I wish I didn't) I'd invite you up for a sewing weekend.

Good luck!!!

How sweet would that be, a sewing weekend at your house. Ah, Java :-)

I am pretty much a sewing novice. Definitely so with a machine.

Thanks for your input!
